Amber is the fearless leader and mastermind behind The Training Room ATL. Her determination and dedication to improving not only her clients and those around her, but also herself, has made her one of the most influential and motivating fitness professionals in her industry.
A fierce believer in equality, love, and empowering others, Amber's passion for what she does is evident in every square inch of her facility and every class she coaches.
Amber prides herself on innovation and evolution, leading her facility to be dubbed "the Swiss Army Knife of Fitness."
She was selected as 1 of 6 Atlanta trainers to represent Nike as a NTC trainer and was an anchoring member of Team Atlanta on ESPN Battlefrog Team Championships.
When Amber is not at The Training Room, which isn't often, you can find her walking the beltline with #izzythestalkingdog or relaxing at Jiao Reflexology.
Tracey received her trainer certification 3 years ago and began coaching after developing a love for fitness and weightlifting. As a gymnast from a very young age, she is now an avid athlete of life and has completed 10 marathons and 3 Ironman races. Tracey enjoys coaching athletes of all skill levels and helping them meet their fitness goals. Outside of coaching, Tracey is an Air Traffic Control for the Federal Aviation Administration. She loves spending time with friends and especially her family and dogs. Tracey also volunteers for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and loves achieving new goals of her own.
Harrison is the Clark Kent of The Training Room. Federal Reserve Bank by day and Superhero coach by night. His southern charm make the workouts a little bit easier to get through. When he is not out trying to save the world you can find him at almost every Alabama Football game. When the season is over you can then find him hiking the trails with his dog Bryant.
Participating in group fitness since the late 80's, this self-proclaimed "group fitness junkie," grew up in a gym. You'll often catch this mother of two sweating and struggling right beside you in a class here at The Training Room. Erin's energy & passion for fitness is hard to ignore. She believes that with the right guidance, support, and encouragement a challenging workout can be a happy, empowering and uplifting experience. That is exactly what she strives to provide to her clients!
Erin has a strong desire for her clients to love working out because of how good their accompaniment makes them feel and look, both mentally and physically.
Mike brings a wide variety of training experience to The Training Room. His career began as a sports performance coach at the collegiate level where he worked with athletes at Ball State, Stanford, University of Virginia, and University of Georgia, where he also received his Master’s degree in Exercise Science. After that, he worked in several private facilities with clientele ranging from high school athletes to grandparents looking to keep up with their grandkids and everything in-between.
Most recently, he spent his time traveling the country with the Atlanta Hawks as a strength and conditioning coach, where he helped to implement strength training, conditioning, rehabilitation, and nutritional strategies to one of the top teams in the league. Mike believes that every training modality has a time and place and always keeps his client’s goals in mind. He knows there are several ways to accomplish any task and enjoys the challenge of finding the right path for each individual he works with. In his down time, he enjoys reading, writing, drawing, and exploring the many unique opportunities Atlanta has to offer.
As a native of Tucson, Arizona, Ariella originally came to Atlanta to attend Emory University. After graduating in 2013 with a degree in Sociology and Women's Studies, she made Atlanta her new home. As a college athlete, participating in both Women's Basketball and Ultimate Frisbee, finding athletic pursuits after college proved to be a challenge as she sought to find something that blended her competitive nature with a results-oriented workout. Thus, Ariella decided to pursue her lifelong passion for athletics and fitness by becoming a personal trainer and wellness coach. When she's not training at The Training Room, you can find her spinning wheels at FlyWheel Sports. As a resident of Reynoldstown, she can often be seen around town at new restaurants, exploring local coffee shops, or walking the Beltline.
Colleen is definitely a fan favorite at The Training Room. She hails from Philadelphia, PA. Don't let her big smile fool you, she will push you harder than you ever imagined you could!
Outside of the gym, you can find her spending time outside with her friends, running on the beltline and reading a good book.
Maria is a NASM CPT, with CES (Corrective Exercise Specialization), a Power Pilates 600 hr Full Comprehensive Certified Instructor, a Professional Ballroom and Latin dancer for over 15 years, teaches Stand Up Paddle board, and she is Stretch Therapy Certified and Red Cord Trained. Her specialties include corrective exercise, spine and alignment health, stability training, and post op rehab from surgery or injury recovery.
Maria is a DVIDA trained Ballroom Instructor, has 15 years experience teaching Salsa, Latin Dance and Afro Cuban, at universities and countless Salsa Congresses and festivals around the country. She had her own Latin dance academy and company for over 15 years, and so she sees the body as capable of great skill and endless varieties of movement and forms. She is fun, positive and energetic, always trying new things and challenging her skill set. She is an avid Rock Climber and Stand Up Paddle Boarder and travels as much as possible. Her pup, Oliver has been on the go with her for 9 years to date.
Maria is patient, funny, and finds unique analogies to help her clients truly comprehend the movement.
She inspires her clients to shift the way they see their health, and their bodies. Her sincere purpose is to see her clients transform into their best selves. Maria goes beyond the session to encourage and support her clients to persevere.
Cristina is originally from Los Angeles, California. She attended Oberlin College where she played NCAA Division III basketball and graduated with degrees in both Mathematics and History. After graduating, she served an assistant basketball coach for both Oberlin High School and Oberlin College. In addition to coaching and personal training at The Training Room Atlanta, Cristina is a Certified Financial Planner and owns a successful financial planning practice. Because of her experiences, she finds it important to give back to her community and volunteers for various non-profit organizations including her church and her college alma mater.
A Georgia native, Charles earned degrees from both Howard and MIT. For almost 20 years, he enjoyed great success in New York City, Washington DC, and Atlanta with some of the country’s most prestigious financial firms. But, he left Corporate America to pursue his true passion: spreading wellness through the power of strength and conditioning programs. A lifelong athlete with formal Power and Olympic lifting training, Charles believes that strength-training based programs, integrated with a balance of cardio, flexibility and agility training, are the best way to achieve total body health.
A passionate advocate for proper form, he adds huge value to even the most seasoned fitness enthusiasts. There is no client, novice or professional athlete, that Charles cannot take to a fitness level that they have never experienced. It’s the result of a perfect combo that only Charles can deliver: rigorous fun and hard-earned expertise. Most importantly, he is a family man. Charles will be home for (a healthy) dinner. And outside of the gym, expect to see his son and fitness assistant, CJ, by his side.
Rob has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for 15 years. He has helped improve the performance of baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, track and field and soccer athletes. Rob spent 5 years at Velocity Sports Performance serving as the Director of Corrective Exercise and Senior Performance Coach. He has worked hard to prepare high school athletes for College testing days and recruiting films, as well dozens of D1 athletes for Pro Day and NFL Combine Testing. Some of his best accomplishments include working with some NFL players from the Vikings and the NY Giants, Golden Gloves boxers, D1 swimmers, Olympic lifters qualifying for the USA national team, and most recently the Columbian National Soccer Team.
Bo is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from Athens, Georgia. Bo played football for two years at The University of Georgia where he discovered his passion for training and exercise. While at UGA, Bo earned his bachelor and master degrees in Exercise Science. He has worked in clinical, commercial, and private settings for the last decade helping a multitude of different clients achieve their goals of living healthier happier lives.
Jermaine was born and raised in Georgia and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science from Jacksonville State University. He left his mark at JSU as a 3 year All-American football player. He believes that a strength and conditioning based program, with a proper diet, is the foundation of a lean mean fighting machine! Jermaine has spent significant time studying under mentor and coach Robert Jacobs and has learned many different methods and techniques of strength training and program design. He strives to be a blessing to others by motivating and pushing individuals to achieve their goals.
Mike is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist originally from Rochester, New Hampshire. He studied Sports Management at Endicott College where he played basketball. He found his love for strength and conditioning there doing sports performance workouts in preparation for the basketball season. He earned his Masters in Exercise Science at The University of Georgia. Mike worked at a sports performance facility where he trained a wide variety of people, including everyday people looking to improve their health and fitness, as well as high school, college, and Olympic-level athletes. When he’s not in the gym training or workout out himself, he enjoys playing basketball and other sports as well as reading, playing video games and relaxing by the pool.
Sharee is a Georgia Peach by way of Boston, Massachusetts. Her favorite movement to coach is anything with a barbell or kettlebell. Outside of the gym, you can find her spending time outside with her family and dog. A fun fact about Sharee is that she can make a mean pot of collard greens!
Kory is an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer. Before pursing a career in health and fitness, Kory worked in various finance roles at several large Atlanta companies while completing her MBA. She is also a mother of two and understands the demands of family and career and the need to fit exercise and movement into a busy schedule. Additionally, Kory maintains the following certifications: StrongFirst Kettlebell Instructor, USA Powerlifting Club Coach + Functional Movement Screening Certified Professional.
Korey is one of Atlanta’s top go-to certified trainers as well as IASTM & cupping therapy certified. Growing up in the foothills of Kentucky, he is a product of his own making by way of his mother, living out of a car at one point, Korey is a firm believer that if you put what you want out into the universe and attach each day with positivity you will achieve what you set your mind to. Korey Austin’s training style stems from his conviction that a hard body requires hard work, dedication and drive to be better than you were yesterday. Korey sets an example of how adopting a healthy diet and active lifestyle can change your life mentally, physically and spiritually. Korey manages to bring fun and personality into every session - not only will you change the way you look and feel, you will also smile, laugh, and have a good time working toward that “look good naked body.”
Zeenat is a full-time nurse and personal trainer. She received her Bachelor's of Nursing from Emory University and decided to bring her passion of the human body outside of the medical field. Over the last several years, she has been dedicated to a consistent fitness regime and learning as much fitness based knowledge as possible from a variety of coaches and certified professionals. Zeenat incorporates her educational background and career into her personal training business by using a whole body approach. With her motivation and dedication, her goal is to help each client embark on their fitness journey and use the gym as a foundation to their health and wellness.
Dr. Lauren Polivka is a licensed physical therapist who graduated from Northwestern University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007. After graduating, Lauren began pursuing a career in sports therapy believing that, "it just makes sense [for me] to heal bodies in motion and be 100% dedicated to keeping people moving, healthy and pushing themselves forward."
Lauren has found a true passion in manual soft tissue treatments, as she loves to actively work with her hands and experience the unbelievable power of touch. Over the past few years, she has focused more on alternative manual therapy – with a strong influence from Eastern medicine.
Lauren also performs cupping treatments, trigger point dry needling, Gua Sha (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), and is certified in Rock Tape fascial movement taping. Her approach is to combine treatments that trigger your body to begin healing itself. She considers herself a "reset button" for injury or pain.
One of Lauren's most fundamental goals for everyone she works with is to help teach the body how to respond to pain or injury in its own way. She then focuses on guiding and teaching her clients specifically exercises and movements that help maintain alignment, balance, and the body's natural state. Her approach proves effective both on a daily basis and in the long term.
